These are the rounded values published by Greenlee for offset layout. Exact trigonometric values differ slightly for some angles; follow the method/reference you are using consistently.

Why multiplier and shrink are two different numbers

The multiplier controls the center-to-center distance between the two equal opposing bend marks. Shrink is the amount by which the conduit’s projected run shortens as the offset is formed. When you are approaching an obstruction, Greenlee’s hydraulic-bender instructions explain that the shrink allowance is used to keep the finished run landing where intended.

For a 4" offset at 30°, the published multiplier gives 8" between bend marks and the 1/4"-per-inch shrink factor gives 1" of total shrink.

Do not mix offset constants with stub deduct

Stub-up deduct depends on the specific hand bender or powered shoe geometry. A generic offset table does not establish the arrow deduct for a 90° stub. Milwaukee, for example, puts size-specific reference marks directly on its hand and powered bending shoes. Greenlee publishes model/shoe instructions for its electric benders.

That is why this page does not publish one universal stub-deduct chart. Use the bender-specific reference for stub-ups and use the table above for the equal-offset method it documents.

What is the multiplier for a 30 degree conduit offset?

The Greenlee field table used here lists a 2.0 multiplier for equal 30-degree opposing bends, so a 4-inch offset uses 8 inches center-to-center between marks.

What is the multiplier for a 22.5 degree offset?

The published Greenlee table used here lists 2.6 for 22.5 degrees.

How do I calculate conduit offset shrink?

Multiply the offset depth by the published shrink-per-unit value for the chosen bend angle. For example, Greenlee lists 1/4 inch of shrink per inch of offset at 30 degrees.

Is stub-up deduct included in the offset multiplier chart?

No. Stub deduct is bender-specific and should come from the markings or documentation for the actual bender. This page intentionally keeps stub deduct separate from equal-offset geometry.
